As full-time RVers, you can guess that we are pretty used to the travel life in general.

I mean, not only is our home completely mobile, but we find ourselves driving around all the over the place, whether that’s road-trips, visiting family, or traveling to other places from wherever we find ourselves at!

So, especially with a newborn, you can probably guess that traveling with a baby can get a little hectic.

However, with the right baby essentials in your packing list, it doesn’t need to be as difficult as it would seem.

If you are traveling with a baby, regardless if you are just visiting places for the holidays or are also fellow travelers, here are some baby items we use to make traveling easier for all of us!

Therefore, here are baby travel essentials for your travel bag!

Hatch portable sound machine

You may have heard people rave about the Hatch sound machine for their nursery room, but some may not be aware of the portable version of the Hatch sound machine.

This is great because obviously it works SO well with travel and it’s nice to have whenever you are traveling in hotel rooms or places where there may be a lot of noise outside.

I mean, no one probably wants to hear people talking, stomping around their hotel rooms, or people having a party outside their campers.

This portable sound machine comes in a variety of sounds from nature, nursery rhyme sounds, and other white noises to choose from!

Diaper backpack

Obviously, a diaper backpack is a MUST when you’re carrying a lot of baby stuff with you.

And personally, I would go with the backpack instead of the tote so that you free your hands from carrying more things than you probably already deal with!

I really loved this Mommore diaper backpack, especially with how classy it looks.

Not only that, but it’s been holding up ALL our stuff in there, which is quite nice.

It does have a changing pad that comes with it just in case you don’t have a portable changing pad. I really loved this since my baby HATES a cold table.

Plus, you really just don’t know what to expect with public changing tables. I can imagine the sanitizing that people have to do before putting their baby onto those bathroom changing tables

I’ve been able to put in extra baby clothes, diapers, wipes, rags, and it holds up to three bottles!

Car mirror

Of course, when it comes to baby travel, you’ll want to have the peace of mind of knowing that your baby is ok in the backseat!

With this car mirror, you’ll be able to look through your car mirror and see the reflection of your baby snuggled up in their car seat!

Now, I might upgrade to something like an actual camera in the future, but for now, especially since the days are getting longer, we are using the mirrors.

Plus, my baby girl was absolutely fascinated when she first looked at herself in the mirror.

If anything, the mirror was a cute way for your baby to be entertained.

Travel system

Honestly, a travel system car seat and stroller are a MUST for us.

I mean, not only do you get a 3 for 1 deal, but it supports your baby in all stage of their life!

I love the storage underneath, the cup holder, the tray, and the fact that it DOES come with its own car base which I wasn’t aware of fully until I unpacked the box!

So, whether you are an RVer like us on the road a lot or a huge travel junkie yourself, your child will be able to come with you comfortably and efficiently!

Bottle warmer

For a while there, I was just putting our baby bottles in a warm cup of water; however, when we started to make long distant travel with our newborn, I found really quickly that it wasn’t very doable.

I’ve tried to have our baby take cold bottles, but she just wouldn’t take a cold bottle.

It had to, at least, be room temperature.

Therefore, I searched up a portable bottle warmer and invested in one.

And honestly, it ended up being a great investment!

This bottle warmer warms up a bottle in a couple of minutes and caters to different temperatures with a milk setting and a water setting, so it works whether you are breastfeeding or formula feeding!

You can easily preset this bottle warmer so that all you have to do is pour the milk in and let it do its thing!

Bottle cleaner kit

This bottle cleaner kit has been great for washing bottles and breast pump parts on-the-go!

I love how compact it is for traveling and it comes with a tiny bottle of soap, a bottle and nipple brush, and wipes if you need a quick wipe down of your breast pump!

It’s been an awesome investment when you need to quickly wash baby bottles!

Portable milk cooler

For a while there, I was using bags to store my breastmilk; however, once I started traveling on the road with a newborn, I wanted a better system that made transporting milk easier and more efficient.

Therefore, I got this portable milk cooler by Willow since I personally use their wearable breast pumps!

I also chose this cooler because of the sleek design that made it to where it was easier to put them in the cup holder on our diaper bag, without it falling out or being too bulky!

It does come with an ice pack that you can take out and keep it cold in your fridge, which is where I put it until we have to go out for long periods of time!

Baby carrier

A baby carrier is great for small walks or taking a short trip somewhere, especially if you don’t want to carry a whole car seat (or setting up a stroller isn’t feasible for where you are going).

It’s taken us a while to get our newborn used to the carrier, especially since she’s on the smaller side, so figuring out how to properly place her in one of these has been a challenge!

This baby carrier can be carried in multiple different ways and will depend on the size of your baby, so make sure to read the manual before putting this on!

This is perfect for those who love to hike or want will be out in nature during their travels with their newborn!

Stroller fan

This fan is a lifesaver for hot days!

You can use it as a handheld or you can wrap it around your stroller so that your little one can stay cool in the summer!

This fan is chargeable, so you don’t have to be worried about getting batteries for it!

Perfect for travel packing, your diaper bag, or even storing it in your purse!
