Sushi Restaurants In Texas That I Loved!

I don’t know about you, but I have an OBSESSION with sushi restaurants.

Whenever my husband and I arrive in a new state, we are always looking for new sushi places to try, or at least, any that are close by.

Seriously.

If you ever invite me to a sushi place, I am always DOWN to sink my teeth into some delicious sushi.

While we were in Texas, we actually found some really unique sushi restaurants that we’ve never experienced up north (where we were from), so each place had its own unique experience and menu!

So, for anyone who is ever in Texas, if you are sushi lovers like we are, then this post will be to your liking!

Here are sushi restaurants in Texas that I loved!

Sakura Japanese Steakhouse

The Sakura Japanese Steakhouse is located in Amarillo, Texas.

This sushi restaurant is basically a mixture of a hibachi grill set where you can sit with a large group of people OR you can easily sit at the smaller tables if it’s just you and a few others.

For us personally, we are always down for the hibachi grill!

The chefs are always a blast and they really love to put on a show when they are grilling your food. It would be a great place for kids, as I find children to be easily entertained by the chefs.

Not only did I love their sushi (which they had a whole variety to choose from), but having it paired with some fried rice and steak strips was just a mouth-watering experience!

If you are in a large group or just want to have an experience at a hibachi grill restaurant, then check out the Sakura Japanese Steakhouse!

Volcano K BBQ & Sushi

The Volcano K BBQ & Sushi is located in Amarillo, Texas.

This was our first time ever going to a Korean barbeque! I was SO excited when my husband found this place! We had only ever seen it in anime and we were wanting to SO BADLY try it ourselves for the longest time!

So, I was really excited to eat at this place and quite honestly, I would say this sushi restaurant was our top favorite! This place is all you can eat because of the endless amount of meat you can eat!

For anyone who isn’t familiar with this type of setup, basically, you get to choose what meats you want, along with any other sides to go along with your main meat choice, and you get to cook it yourself on the grill that is installed in the middle of the table.

It really makes it a fun activity, plus, you get to cook it yourself to your liking!

They had a large variety of meat choices from different types of beef, chicken, seafood, and pork!

And, of course, their sushi is great as well!

This place was a weekly place to go, as the people who work there are just so amazing and kind!

Again, I am biased and will say without a doubt, that this was one of our favorite sushi restaurants in Amarillo, Texas!

Volcano Asian Fusion Sushi & Bar

The Volcano Asian Fusion Sushi & Bar is located in Midland, Texas.

We went to this sushi restaurant quite often as well when we were in the Midland area.

The presentation of our order really added a beautiful touch to our meal. You can tell that the chefs really enjoy plating their food and having fun with it!

Depending on what order you get, you can have a little entertainment with your meal (as you can see my husband’s flaming sushi).

If you are ever there or passing through Midland, if you love fried rice and love pineapple, try out their pineapple fried rice because you’ll be in for quite a surprising and interesting presentation that you won’t expect (not including a picture because I just want you to be surprised at what you will find).

Hayashi Japanese Steakhouse

The Hayashi Japanese Steakhouse is located in Midland, Texas.

We only ate at this sushi restaurant once, but did it sure make an impression when we walked into the place!

Right when you walk into the front doors, you will find yourself facing a fountain which was really cool and unexpected!

I didn’t get to take a picture of it when I was there (there were too many people around), but I’ll let you be awestruck when you get there!

When we went there, I got spontaneous and tried out their flaming hot Cheeto sushi which actually wasn’t bad. And it’s not as spicy as you’d think it would be. Quite honestly, I felt like it just gave my sushi an extra crunch to it!

The cocktails were fancy looking as well (which of course, forgot to take a picture of it). I remember my drink was this Tiki looking drink that came in a Tiki cup, so I know I got some kind of fruity cocktail, but they have a whole variety of cocktails, so check them out if you like cocktails!

This place is also a hibachi place, which my husband and I didn’t get to experience at this particular place, but if you are wanting to experience a hibachi grill with yourself, your friends, or family, then definitely try this place out!

Overall, this sushi restaurant was the most aesthetically pleasing out of all the other sushi restaurants we have been too in Texas!
