Rv Upgrades We Made That You Won't Regret!

It’s been well over a year since we officially started the rv life and as time went on, we have made quite a few rv upgrades that make the rv lifestyle easy, efficiently, and conveniently.

Over time, when you find yourself rv living longer, you too, might want to make some upgrades to your rv camper.

And guess what? We don’t blame you!

If you are looking to upgrade some of your rv must haves, we have some ideas that are rv storage friendly and will make rv living full-time MUCH easier!

So, here are some rv upgrades we made that you won’t regret!

Rv sewer hose support kit

We went from an accordion style support kit to a longer, more sturdy sewer hose support kit.

After having these accordion style hose supports for over a year, we found that although they did their job, they would sometimes fall over, especially when you’re in a windy area.

Unfortunately, the wind in some of these states were so strong that parts of our old sewer hose went off into the abyss.

Although the accordion style hose supports can snap on and snap off to your catered length, some of ours broke from pulling them apart with too much force.

So, we spent a little extra on these rv sewer hose support, which have made setting up the sewer hose FAR quicker.

These are great because they’re quite study and won’t topple over on windy days! They come in five sections and are designed to drain your waste downwards with ease!

It’s truly been a great purchase for us!

Rv keyless door lock

We got this bad boy for Christmas and it was truly been SO nice.

I saw another rv content creator advertise this rv door lock and loved that I didn’t need a key on me to get inside the camper.

Fun fact: around the time we got our camper, I actually locked myself out of the camper and had to wait for hours outside of the camper for my husband to get back home from work (luckily, it was summer around that time).

So, I had to make sure my rv keys were always on me when I left the camper. I have no idea how I even managed to lock myself out to this day.

So, with this rv door lock, it DOES come with two sets of keys that lock and unlock your camper door (it kind of reminds me of a car key).

But, if you don’t want to use your rv key, you can easily just set a code to get inside.

It’s great if you need someone to watch your camper or pets if you travel with them. You don’t have to worry about leaving your keys behind, you can just give them the code to get inside!

Plus, I feel this is FAR safer than the usual rv locks that are made for campers.

This has been an AWESOME rv upgrade! Out of all the rv upgrades I’ll be talking about; I feel this one would be best for anyone living the rv life.

At least you know you’ll be safe and secure with this rv lock upgrade!

Shoe organizer

I love over the door show organizers because it prevents shoe clutter in your rv home.

It’s a smart rv storage hack and you won’t find yourself tripping over shoes on the floor!

However, the one I bought back when we got this camper was ripping apart and was not able to hold large, heavier shoes like my hiking boots or my husband’s work boots.

So, we finally invested in a better shoe organizer and this one has held quite BEAUTIFULLY.

The quality is FAR better and it has deep pockets for larger shoes.

This shoe organizer can fit up to 20 pairs of shoes and has up to 8 deep pockets.

I really think this was a nice rv upgrade then what we had before.

Now it gives me an excuse to buy more shoes 😉

Mattress

I don’t have picture of the mattress that came with our camper, but it was horrendous.

It was literally cotton that was stuffed in a mattress cover.

I’m not even joking about this. I was able to literally rip apart the old mattress and put it in garbage bags.

I’m not sure if it comes with the brand of our camper or what, but our old mattress was NOT doing our backs justice.

We just HAD to get a different mattress and so far, this memory foam/hybrid mattress has done WONDERS.

This new mattress has a cooling and conforming effect, which really saved us from overheating in the summer.

You will have to do the measurements to make sure this mattress will fit your camper!

Do your back a favor and get a better mattress!

You’ll be glad to have your beauty sleep again!

Cordless hand vacuum

Before, we had a shop vac for our camper home, but our travel trailer is starting to get more clutter over time and the shop vac was old and starting to not work as well as it used to.

Therefore, we decided to get a hand vacuum for better storage.

We didn’t need anything big and fancy considering we have very little carpet in our camper (just the couch and dinette area), so I looked into many cordless options.

I’ve invested in cordless hand vacuum before, but many of them sucked (no pun intended).

This Black+Decker Furbuster has been the only hand vacuum I’ve come across that actually WORKS and works WELL.

This cordless hand vacuum is pretty simple to clean and charge.

According to reviews, when it’s fully charged, it lasts around 20 minutes, so I recommend this vacuum for people who have very little carpet like our camper or smaller carpeted areas.

I also got this hand vacuum because it’s great for picking up pet hair, which comes with the territory when you’re traveling with cats!

If you are tired of crappy hand vacuums, I highly recommend checking this one out!
