It’s no secret that my husband and I are expecting our first child in February and I’m sure the biggest question people wonder is: how do you make it work in a camper home with a baby on the way?
Honestly, it’s really not a mystery considering a motorhome is basically like a trailer home except on wheels.
However, I get the curiosity when some rv campers come with a lack of storage and you have to get creative with storage solutions!
Now that we’re on the tail end of rv renovations, the nursery is officially done.
So, I wanted to share with you our rv storage ideas that you can use for your rv nursery!
I saw this storage hack on Tiktok and thought it was literally the cutest idea ever!
Having a utility storage cart has been so helpful for organizing baby items, having my postpartum essentials set up for me, and having some drinks and snacks when I’m healing up in bed.
I also love how my diaper caddy fits PERFECTLY on the top tier of the utility cart!
You even get hooks and little storage containers on the side to hang off of, which I love for smaller baby items as well!
YASONIC 3-Tier Rolling Utility Cart
This utility cart comes in three neutral colors and is quite easy to set up!
It can load up to 88lbs in total and can easily be converted into something else in the future: such as a makeup cart, craft cart, cleaning cart, and more!
Like I said before, this diaper caddy fits beautifully in a utility cart AND you’ll have your diapers, wipes, muslin clothes, swaddles, and whatever other baby item on hand beside you!
I was able to fit extra items like teethers, rattles, and smaller items just find in the pouches of this diaper caddy, which will be majorly helpful when it comes to postpartum season for me.
If you’re wanting to take advantage of all the storage you can get, then this diaper caddy is a LIFESAVER.
Parker Baby Diaper Caddy
Not only has this diaper caddy been SUPER convenient, but it’s been SO helpful to store our baby’s diapers, clothes, wipes, and so much more so effortlessly!
It’s very stylish as well and it feels very high quality!
I personally wanted a bedside bassinet to start off with because I wanted to co-sleep with the little one.
I really loved this bassinet on wheels!
Honestly, if I wanted to work at our dining room table, I can literally roll her around the travel trailer since our floors are completely flat and leveled (unlike a fifth wheel where you might deal with mini stairs).
This was a great option for us for now until baby girl grows out of it.
I also loved the idea of having a bassinet cover, which is like a mesh mosquito net that keeps cats OUT of her bassinet.
Because well, my cats have no sense of boundaries….
Also let’s be real: life in a rv camper comes with the occasional flies and mosquitos sneaking into your camper home!
So, it was a win-win for our situation!
3-in-1 Baby Bassinet Bedside Crib
This bassinet, not only has wheels you can roll around and lock, but it’s also adjustable!
So, you can adjust your baby to the height of your bedside and can even incline the bassinet in case your baby struggles with baby reflux!
This bassinet is mesh all around, so that baby can breathe easily on all sides and be visible within your eyesight!
Plus, this bassinet has storage underneath it, so you can fit even more baby essentials!
DUOMI Bassinet Cover
This bassinet cover has two-way zippers, which makes it so easy to access baby.
Having this cover is great when you have pets with you and can prevent your fur babies from bothering the baby!
Surprisingly, this net actually comes in three different colors, so you get to have a variety to choose from!
I saw this over-the-door organizer on my Tiktok and really loved the idea for the rv nursery room!
It has been REALLY convenient for diapers, wipes, books, toys, and other baby essentials!
Also, this bad boy has some TIGHT hangers and it doesn’t shift on the door one bit just an FYI.
The pockets are quite deep and sturdy as well, which means you won’t have to be afraid of the pockets collapsing or caving in with too much weight!
I LOVED this idea since it has really helped organize baby girl’s nursery room!
JARLINK Over-The-Door Organizer Storage
This over-the-door organizer is a five shelf storage with deep pockets and five side pockets.
It can hold up to 44 lbs and can be used for multiple purposes!
I’ve shared this before in other blog posts and I’m going to share it again: these has been a GREAT way to store baby girl’s clothes.
Literally I can just roll it out from underneath the couch and get what I want out of it.
Some people may have actual dressers or bins to separate their baby clothes in their rv homes, but I really wanted to optimize the space in our rv as much as I can and prevent cluttering up the room too much while still creating a homely feel to it.
Therefore, when I saw these under-the-couch storage containers, it was PERFECT for what I needed to use it for!
2-Pack Under Bed Storage With Wheels
This under bed storage is easy to put together and can fit a wide variety of baby essentials, such as clothes, blankets, shoes, toys, and other baby items!
You can even take the wheels off and stack these storage containers!
Honestly this hamper can be used for anything: toys, clothes, blankets, and whatever else you can fit in there!
I liked it because I thought it was cute and I can have a place to put baby girl’s blankets and plushies!
So, I went with this woven basket.
Plus, it was cute!
Fiona’s Magic Woven Laundry Hamper
Although it’s considered a hamper, you don’t necessarily need to use it for clothes.
You can use it for storing toys, blankets, and anything else you want out of the way in your nursery!
This hamper comes in a variety of colors and styles, so you can have one that fits the style of your nursery decor!
I know having a diaper pail isn’t really considered a storage hack, but it can be convenient for an extra trash can around.
Some people have different opinions on diaper pails, saying it’s not worth the money, to just use a regular trash can, or maybe they do go outside and dump it in the trash.
Here’s the thing: our trash can already get full quite easily, between us, cleaning our cats litter box, and then adding baby diapers on top of it.
We already dump the trash enough as is.
I was also quite surprised how small and compact this diaper pail.
I hear diaper pails can help block out the smell, but again, I will have to test out how this will work.
Mainly, I’m sharing this just to show you guys what we are using for our convenience!
Diaper Genie Select Diaper Pail
Small, compact, and keeps the smell away!
