6 Rv Gadgets That Will Make Rv Living Easier!

It’s been about a year now since my husband and I took on the rv lifestyle and so far, we are loving this new travel life!

Although there can be many ups and downs as a full-time rver, I’ve come to find some rv gadgets that have made rv living SO much easier.

These rv gadgets are, not only affordable, but range from something so small that you wouldn’t even think of to rv gadgets that have REALLY made a big difference!

Like always, I love to share with my readers what I use for our rv camper and why I love them. By no means, am I forcing any of my recommendations on you.

I just love to share with you anything and everything that I’ve learned on the rv life, both the good and the bad.

For now, let me share with you rv gadgets that will make rv living easier!

Gooseneck/Elbow Hose Connector

You wouldn’t think a gooseneck hose connector would be a big deal, but it really just makes my life easier when I’m connecting the hose.

Plus, now I have an easier time connecting our water filter versus doing it on the water pressure valve.

You may have heard of this connector also be called an elbow hose connector, which quite honestly, any brand will do the trick.

You can usually get these at any hardware store or maybe even the hardware section at a retail store (we got ours at Ace Hardware).

However, I will link a similar hose connector through Amazon that is very much like ours, which is made out of zinc, but you can also get it in brass.

Like I said before, any elbow/gooseneck hose connector will do regardless.

I also love that the swivel nut (apparently that’s what they call it, don’t laugh) is large and easier to grip when you want to screw in your hose.

Some connectors even come with a shut-off valve, just in case you need it to shut off your water for whatever reason!

Again, this is just an ordinary elbow connector. There’s no shut-off valve since we don’t need one.

It’s just simple and makes rv living easier to set up!

Disposable RV Sanitation Gloves

Messing with the sewer hose is already an ick and I got sick of my husband doing it with his bare hands.

Just save yourself the trouble and get some disposable sanitation gloves.

Any brand will do, but I use the Camco brand where the box itself can stick to the inside of your storage door for easy access.

Again, any brand will do just as long as they are disposable and good quality.

Please just…. save yourself the sh*tty experience.

Heated Hose

If you plan on rv living full-time, then a heated hose will save you the trouble of having to wrap your hose during the cold season.

I wish we would have gotten one sooner, but now we solely use this heated hose, even during the summer. All you really need to do is unplug it if you don’t need the heated portion of the hose.

It’s just nice to have on you at all times and makes it SO easy for you then having two different hoses for the warm and cold season.

When you DO use it for the cold season, just plug it in and the heated portion will activate when it hits a certain temperature outside, which is really nice!

Waste Valve

Sometimes, the valve on a rv camper just isn’t up-to-par on quality, especially when it comes to your sewer system.

We found that our valve on one of our tanks was bad not long after be bought our camper home.

And well… to spare you the details, it was just a sh*tty situation that my husband is still mortified to this day.

So, we got this waste valve which has just made rv living SO much easier for us. It’s just safe to have just in case something happens to your sewer valve and decides it doesn’t want to close all the way.

Just like the description, it’s a mess-free way to make a valve repair and oh so much cheaper.

Tire Inflator

One day, my husband and I realize that many gas stations nowadays charge you to pay to fill your tires with AIR. And I don’t want seem old or anything but, I don’t remember having to do that AT ALL years ago.

After discovering this annoyance, we decided to just buy a freaking tire inflator.

If you are like us and plan to travel with your camper often, it’s nice to have a tire inflator in handy just in case your tires start to look a little flat.

Plus, driving your camper to a place to fill up your tires just seems too risky on a flat tire.

Even if you don’t buy the brand we have, you’ll want to make sure you get one that plugs into an outlet and NOT a vehicle because the one for your vehicle can overheat and not produce enough power to inflate a large camper tire fully.

So, if you are like us and don’t want to pay for LITERAL AIR, then just get one of these bad boys because they can come in handy when you need it.

Water Filter

We had one before, but it burst because we were using it during the cold season.

At first, I thought it was a waste of money when our first one got busted until I started to smell something foul when I would run our water.

After that, I decided to give it another go with a different water filter.

You may not think getting a water filter (especially when most people drink bottled water), but I found having a water filter is helpful if you have sensitive skin.

Even though it’s hot and humid out right now, I kept wondering how my hands were always so dry even though I usually get dry skin during the winter.

Well, once we put a water filter in, it helped my skin SO much.

Not as dry as it was before.

So if you want to have cleaner water for your camper, getting a water filter will make it easier for you to do so!
