RV Essentials That Are A MUST For Your First RV Camper

rv essentials

When you get your first RV camper, it is a MUST to start off with some RV essentials before you hit the road!

Most places you buy an RV camper will come with a starter pack, either for a discount or even for free; however, if you buy a camper from the owner itself, you might need to prepare yourself a little better!

And to be quite honest, the starter kit we started off with didn’t have the highest quality of RV items; however, it was a decent start, so we were grateful.

Now we have a better system in place with far better RV products!

So, here are RV essentials that are a MUST for your first RV camper!

RhinoFlex RV sewer hose kit

Nothing is grosser than having a crappy (no pun intended) sewer hose!

The most popular sewer hose that I find people using and recommending is the RhinoFlex Sewer Hose.

It’s very durable and eliminates a lot of struggle when it comes to putting the sewer hose together!

They come in a variety of different sizes for your needs and this sewer hose will handle the nature of elements way better!

RhinoFLEX 20′ Camper/Sewer Hose Kit

This sewer hose does come in different feet. The one I’m showcasing is 20 feet, which in my personal opinion, the longer the better! You never know how well you’ll park by the dump station that day or how the layout of the campground looks.

Better safe than sorry!

Pro tip: use insulation tape to wrap around the hose during the winter months to prevent freezing!

Camco Sidewinder camper/RV sewer hose support

Most campgrounds (if not, all of them) require your sewer hose to be supported off the ground.

We use the Cameo Sidewinder hose support which is flexible AND you can take it apart in pieces for the perfect length!

This is great for us because we have two bathrooms in our camper, so we’re able to adjust the length of both our sewer hoses.

Camco Sidewinder 20-ft Camper/RV Sewer Hose Support

Since the sewer hose I’ve recommended is 20 feet, I also recommended the 20 feet hose support so you know you’ll have enough support!

These supports also come in different lengths and like I said before, you can take this support apart and create your own length!

Camco RV wheel chock and stop

I find that having some RV wheel chock and stops is a must have RV essential.

Not only will these keep your RV camper from shifting and feeling wobbly, but it’s also for safety.

So definitely make sure you invest your money into theses. Otherwise, you’ll find it annoying to camp in your RV.

We wouldn’t want you rolling all over the place!

Camco Wheel Chock

These wheel chocks hold put to 26′ in diameter for tires.

We’ve already experienced all kinds of weather on our trips and they have still held up nicely in quality!

Camco Small RV Wheel Stop

These come in different sizes, so make sure you choose the right size for your RV camper! You can also choose whether you want one with a lock or not.

It’s pretty self-explanatory how to use it.

Camco Camper/RV leveling blocks

It’s basically a guarantee that you’ll be camping on uneven grounds, so these leveling blocks help even out your camper.

They’re lightweight, heavy duty, and you can build them in anyway you want.

Think adult legos!

The handle helps lock the blocks in place for easy storage.

They’re easy to use and people have used them for multiple purposes aside from their camper!

Mounting Dream RV TV mount

I’m assuming about 90% of us are going to want a TV mounted into our camper. We found that it’s important to get the RIGHT TV mount because one you just pick up in the store doesn’t mount in a camper.

This TV mount has been amazing for us! It’s full motion and has a release pulley that can help your mount release and lock in place. This is going to be essential for traveling.

After all, you wouldn’t want to ruin your TV while your on the road!

Mounting Dream Lockable RV TV Mount

This mount fits TVs from 13-43 inches. This mount also comes with brackets, so if you want to take your TV outside, you can mount it with ease!

TST Max RV toilet treatments

Look, your bound to run into some smells while RV camping, so these drop ins are going to be a lifesaver for you.

You don’t have to do it everyday, just use them whenever you start to smell something funky or it’s just been a while since you used one of these.

Plus, these help keep your toilets unclogged, since they help break down waste and tissue.

Thank me later.

This 30-pack has lasted for quite a few months. Again, use these when you most need them and using one goes a long way!

Drinking water hose

You’re going to need a drinking hose for your freshwater connection, so just in case you didn’t get one with your camper or just need one in general, this one is widely used that we use ourselves!

Valterra AquaFresh High Pressure Drinking Water Hose

Although the picture says 25 feet, you can actually get this hose in different sizes.

From 10 feet to 50 feet, you’ll be able to find your needs!
